Saint Pancrazio Tower

What to do in Cagliari - a good place to visit in Cagliari is the Saint Pancrazio Tower. From the summit you can admire a nice panoramic view of the city, the gulf of Cagliairi and the Campidano’ s plain.

Entrance is:

• €2 or
• €1 students 6 to 26 years old.
• €1,50 for groups of minimum 15 people.
• Free for children (aged under 5), the over 65s and the disabled.

Opening Time: everyday except on Mondays.

• April to October: 9:00 to 13:00 and 15:30 to 19:30
• November to March: 9:00 to 17:00

This monument was built in 2 years by the architect Giovanni Capula under the Pisan domination in 1305. It was erected to defend the northern access to the “Castello” and is located at the top of the hill at about 130 meters above sea level and is about 36 meters tall. It is characterised by its minimalist design and the whiteness of the limestone of which it is constructed. It is still almost fully intact despite the many changes of use that have occurred during the centuries (defence, home, prison) chosen by the various governments ruling the island at the time.
