Elephant Tower

What to do in Cagliari - a good place to visit in Cagliari is the Elephant Tower. From the summit you can admire a nice panoramic view of the city.

Entrance cost is:

    • €2 or
    • €1 students 6 to 26 years old.
    • €1,50 for groups of minimum 15 people.
    • Free for children (aged under 5), the over 65s and the disabled.

Monument Address: Via Università, Cagliari, Historic Centre. It is near Palazzo De Candia, only 3 to 5 minutes walk away.

Opening Time: everyday except on Mondays

  • April to October: 9:00 to 13:00 and 15:30 to 19:30.
  • November to March: 9:00 to 17:00.

This monument is slightly older than Saint Pancrazio, built in about four years starting at the beginning of the XIV century by the same architect that built Saint Pancrazio called Capula. It was erected in Medieval times to defend the southern access to the Castle, one of its unique features is the elephant sculpture on the top of the main entrance. Despite numorus changes the building is still intact.
